Where do I even begin about these magnificent goliath ice structures? All I can say is that these pictures do not do icebergs or glaciers any justice. The colors inside and underneath the water surface are unimaginably vibrant. Below the water the icebergs maintain an electric turqouise skirt and within the crevices of icebergs and glaciers alike is this stunning neon royal blue that is apparently the result of the ice being able to reflect every wavelength of the color spectrum, EXCEPT the blue wavelength.
Other mesmerizing facets that I could not capture in photos were the deep sighing sounds the icebergs make as they balance themselves out in the water and the squeaking door-hinge like noise when they are unstable. In contrast, the glaciers make loud whiplash cracks when pieces break off.
We went on multiple zodiac cruises through these forests of icebergs and here are some of our favorite photos.
